Doctor Who fans are
fortunate to have an abundance of extra material (such as interviews,
out takes, unbroadcast footage, promos, clean music scores, etc.)
that could be placed on the growing range of Doctor Who on DVD. This
is the basis of Time Rotor. A chance on a non-official fan level to
make suggestions as to what extras we would like to see on a Doctor
Who DVD.
It's easy to suggest an
extra — just give a title to the
extra, a description and details about whether this exits or is a
suggestion for new material. Then, select the best place this extra
would fit via the "associations.
It is understandable that an extra may be
associated with more than just a particular serial. It may work with a
certain Doctor's
era or a specific season of the show.
For example, let’s use an extra that is already available on a
Doctor Who DVD. From
Spearhead from Space we will use ‘The UNIT Recruitment Film’. From top to bottom, obviously the title will be ‘The UNIT
Recruitment Film’. The description of the extra could be, “Short film
calling out the importance of UNIT showing many clips from the
series and narrated by Nicholas Courtney." The extra exists and was originally
broadcast on 17 December
1993. The more descriptive but concise, the better. Then pick what association
works best for this extra. For this extra, you could suggest any
UNIT story, or just associate it to the Jon Pertwee era, or Season 7.
